Pastry Specialist Team Member

Overview

Pastry Specialist Team Member: You will prepare of all SusieCakes product offerings, custom and specialty cakes as guests request.? Maintain the SusieCakes quality standards in the creation of each product.? Execution of custom cake orders with creative and complex decorating requests.? Cleaning and storing of all bakery pots, pans, utensils and dishes either by hand or utilizing dishwashing equipment.? Perform culinary food prep as instructed by the Assistant Head Baker/Head Baker.


Responsibilities


  • Assist other culinary team members


  • Produce product offerings in an efficient manner


  • Handle challenging cake decorating orders


  • Proper mixing and baking of all cake batters


  • Prepare and build puddings &?pies


  • Build and finish custom &?specialty cakes


  • Monitor and advise MOD of product offering inventory levels


  • Prepare product offerings according to standards, recipes and procedures


  • Preparation of buttercreams, cookies and bars


  • Cupcake finishing, frosting, sprinkles and inscriptions


  • Operation of sheeter for the production of pie shells and cookies


  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment at all times in accordance with restaurant and health department standards


  • Washing and storing pots, pan, utensils and dishware


  • Break down boxes and remove along with the garbage


  • Fill, empty, drain dishwasher or pot sinks (as applicable)


  • Empty grease trap (if applicable)


  • Store food products and paper items upon receipt


  • Clean sinks and drains daily


  • Perform weekly Culinary/dishwasher checklist


  • Assist with kitchen food prep as needed


  • Clean all metro shelving,?upright racks,?trash bins when needed &?walk-in freezer/refrigerator


  • Ensure FIFO compliance


  • Sweep and mop floors


  • Monitor cleaning supplies inventory levels




    • Must be able to lift, move & carry up to 50 pounds?


    • Frequent walking, bending, kneeling and reaching


    • Able to stand for extended periods of time





Qualifications

Two years of previous culinary experience ? bakery preferred, culinary degree a plus in addition to cake decorating skills. EOE




Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
