The Representative reviews escalated health claims for reconsideration, confirms accumulator benefits to outside vendors, and communicates with participants and providers' offices about claims and benefit issues.
Qualifications:
High school Diploma or GED required.
Some college preferred Minimum 2 years of customer service phone experience Minimum 1 year of healthcare/insurance experience Accurate typing skills of 45 wpm 10 key skills by touch, preferred Proficient PC skills, including Windows; MS Word and MS Excel Clear and effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain and confirm understanding of complex issues Excellent mathematical and analytical skills Pleasant and professional telephone etiquette.
Articulate, clear telephone voice.
Able to handle fast-paced work and meet deadlines Motivated self-starter, well organized in managing time and materials Strong attention to detail, a high level of accuracy required Able to learn quickly and follow through to completion Good interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with callers, and co-workers at all levels of the organization A flexible team player with a positive, cooperative and helpful attitude and displays excellent collaboration skills Excellent attendance and reliability, with the ability to work overtime/extended hours as required.
Ability to accept direction and developmental guidance from supervisor.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Review and process a high-volume of claim requests for reconsideration Document issues and actions effectively and efficiently utilizing internal systems Make outbound calls to our participants and/or providers regarding the status of a claim Contact provider's regarding misrouted or unidentified claims Contact provider's requesting additional information (medical records, consultation notes, progress notes and prescriptions) Provide accumulator benefits to our external medical partners Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment.
It routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
