Summary:
Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans has an opening for a Benefits Reimbursement Analyst in our Benefit Recovery Department.
This position supports the audit and collection activities of the Third Party Liability and Workers Compensation teams within the Department, which is responsible for the administration of benefits recovery related to Third Party Liability, Workers Compensation, and Questionnaires.
The Analyst will collaborate and participate in departmental quality improvement projects as needed.
The Analyst will maintain support, training and documentation to the Benefits Recovery Workers' Compensation, Third Party Liability and Questionnaire processes.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; some college preferred.
Intermediate level of proficiency in PC skills including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel Knowledge of CPT, HCPCs, ICD-10, Coordination of Benefits, and medical terminology Previous Healthcare/Insurance experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills; comprehensive problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail with high level of accuracy Strong organizational skills Excellent attendance and reliability, with the ability to work overtime/extended hours as required.
Ability to accept direction and developmental guidance from supervisor.
Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with FileMaker Pro a plus Preferred
Qualifications:
California Workers' Compensation Claims Administration (WCCA), Paralegal Certificate Experience with EAMS, EDEX E-filing documents, drafting Proof of Services and Declarations 3 years experience working with Workers' Compensation case filings and reimbursement Knowledge of the Workers' Compensation and Subrogation processes, regulations and compliance guidelines is a plus Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Provide BRD department with operational support around existing and newly developed BRD Filemaker solutions; gather process improvement information regarding the same Filing Workers' Compensation reimbursement documents, proofs of service, and supporting documents with the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board Prepare and analyze monthly Benefits Recovery Department collections reporting.
Perform research and preparation of Benefit Appeals (BAC) for managerial review.
Maintain quality standards for Questionnaires, Third Party Liability, and Workers Compensation cases.
Assist BRD manager with training using power-point, videos and flow-charts, when necessary, to maintain the team's technical knowledge.
Assist with the maintenance and creation of departmental policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Prepare collection letters and pursue benefits paid and interest where applicable Post payments, settlements, write-offs and legal referrals in Collection and Billing system Handle disputes and discuss resolution with external parties Prepare memos for files that require action Answer provider and participant reimbursement inquiries by phone and email.
Perform other duties as assigned.
