Media Assistant
Part-time 11 hours ago Full Job Description Join the Harvard-Westlake Media teaching team at the upper school campus in Studio City, California! We are looking for a professional assistant for the HW Media department.
HWTV students learn to produce different types of pre-recorded and live programs.
Productions appear on all school and social media platforms.
All sports are covered as well as several social and academic events per quarter.
The curriculum includes:
Multilevel development of skills for operating all audio and video equipment; Gathering and analyzing statistics; Creating on-screen graphics; Providing play-by-play and color commentary; and editing packages, video profiles, and highlight reels.

What we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree, completed or in process, in a communications or media field, preferred Experience working with high school students or college students in an academic setting with the ability to excite and motivate students Eager to work with students in all aspects of scholastic journalism:
newspaper, multimedia/online, yearbook, magazines, broadcast and livestream, podcasts, etc.
Experience with livestream production from planning and graphics prep through live events and posting Willing to learn hardware (Newtek and others) and software specific to HWTV livestream Commitment to working with sensitivity, humor, and care Availability for afternoon, evening and weekend events including student supervision plus several daytime meetings per quarter Compensation:
Anticipated base compensation is $30-$35 per hour depending on experience.
This is a part-time position with no benefits that will begin August 2023.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
